The ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard was released in September 2015 with a three-year window for transition from ISO 9001:2008.
The new standard is an enhancement on the 2008 standard and adds the following requirements:
- Greater emphasis on building a management system suited to your organisation’s particular needs
- A requirement that those at the top of an organization (top management) be involved and accountable, aligning quality with wider business strategy
- Risk-based thinking throughout the standard makes the whole management system a preventive tool and encourages continuous improvement
- Less prescriptive requirements for documentation
- Alignment with other key management system standards through the use of a common structure and core text
Independent Advice for Business Limited have now successfully transitioned all of their clients to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard, yet here are still many organisations who are still operating with the ISO 9001:2008 and time is running out.
Any organisation that has not transitioned by September 2018 will have their certificate withdrawn and will no longer be accredited.
