The IOSH Managing safety qualification is part of our ongoing professional development programme to broaden the support we offer to our supported. BS EN 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety clients.

The 4 day course, provided by Browns Health and Safety in Lutterworth, explained how managers:

• Identify their responsibilities for health and safety;
• consider the reasons for preventing workplace accidents and occupational ill health;
• define ‘hazard’, ‘risk’ and ‘risk assessment’;
• identify common hazards;
• carry out risk assessments;
• identify the best techniques to control key risks;
• identify the demands of the law and how the legal system works;
• describe a health and safety management system ;
• identify why and how accidents should be investigated;
• outline basic performance indicators for monitoring activities;
• outline the requirements for the control of waste and pollution.

Our Capabilities

We can help you gain certification to ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and BS OH SAS 18001:2007, ISO 27001:2013 Information Security or undertake a transition audit to the new standard(s). We also support several clients occupational health and safety systems and are now in discussions about implementing the new ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard, expected in 2017.
