We are pleased to announce that Elmbridge Tyre Services Services Limited have successfully passed their transition audit to gain ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification in addition to retaining their existing BS OH SAS 18001:2007 accreditation awarded by ALCUMUS Limited.
Elmbridge Tyre Services Limited pride themselves on being an independent family business and they only offer customers honest, straightforward advice. they only deal in tyres & batteries, so they won’t try to sell you exhausts, brakes and shock absorbers like some of our competitors may do. THEY DO NOT SELL PART-WORN TYRES, they believe that they are a false economy & a potentially lethal addition to your vehicle.
They also offer 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT using our own top of the range Hunter Hawkeye TD Elite aligner. This means that they are now more flexible in getting your car aligned correctly when it suits you most. Each alignment they do is accompanied by an easy to understand colour printout showing ‘Before’ & ‘After’ readings plus if you want to leave your vehicle with us, the alignment computer can send you an email with your car’s report if required. Every initial alignment check is free of charge & our technicians will show you the readings & explain what options are available before doing anything further.
In 2014 they earned certification to the following standards: ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001.
Elmbridge Tyre Services Limited has now been trading for over 50 years. Originally the brainchild of Barry Williams and Tony Aitken back in 1962 with only £210 between them, Barry and Tony started Elmbridge in an old bakery and yard at Belmont Street, Swadlincote. The subsequent years have seen the company grow from what was originally a cash gamble to a very successful business, now employing around 20 staff, with 5 breakdown vans in operation in addition to our dedicated workshop staff who look after drive-in car customers.
50 years of Elmbridge Tyres
In 1965 the company moved to a ‘Greenfield Site’ – the first in the area. Elmbridge Tyre Services is still occupying this same site today on Hearthcote Road. In 2002, Barry’s son Gareth took over as Managing Director and started a modernisation programme to help the business grow and become more efficient.
The project commenced in May 2016 and included reviewing and upgrading their existing integrated management system documentation to meet the requirements of the new standards. ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 training was provided for the work force to ensure engagement across all levels of the business. The 3 man day audit was completed without any issues identified.
Independent Advice for Business Limited will continue to support Elmbridge Tyre Services new standard and undertake the internal audits and provide occupational health and safety advice.
